How Fadden Voted

See the other Gold Coast electorates also:

Below is a data visualisation showing the voting patterns of Fadden voters in the 3 most recent elections. Fadden is a relatively wealthy Gold Coast electorate, and is regarded as a "safe" LNP seat (but we all know no seat is "safe" any more).

You can see both the pre-poll election results (usually the two weeks leading up to the actual election), and Election Day results for each case.

You can also choose to see how a particular candidate performed across various voting booths. (Of course the regions shown are very approximate, since not everyone who lives in the sub-regions would have voted in that voting centre, but we can get a general sense of how different parts of Fadden voted.)

Primary votes only are shown. (We're not including the preferences flow. Go to the Preferential voting page to see the preference flow.)

Percentages are based on the total number of votes for each booth.

Colours

The colours used are the Party colours.

The colour shade shown is based on the strength of the primary vote. Darker means there was a higher % vote in that particular voting booth.

When viewing a particular candidate, you can choose "Enhance colours" which exaggerates the colour differences between lower and higher % votes.

Observations and info

(1) The percentage of informal votes (ones either filled out incorrectly, or not filled out at all) in Gold Coast seats is quite high for the 2022 election (around 5%), 2023 by-election (in Fadden, around 9% in most polling centres) and 2025 election (around 6%).

(2) The percentage of informal votes for the 2023 Voice referendum is low, at around 1% for both the pre-poll and election day counts.

(3) All booths in the Gold Coast returned a "No" result in the Referendum, with proportions ranging (in Fadden) from 57.4% (at Southport State HS) to 84.9% (at Woongalba Public Hall).

Turnout (Fadden)

Turnout was around 87% for each of the 2022 & 2025 elections and for the Voice referendum, but very low (72.5%) in the 2023 By-election.
